China Glaze Pure Elegance

Today I had an event at my university, all high heels and pencil skirts, so I painted my nails with this. China Glaze Pure Elegance is a very feminine pink polish, and it has a really nice and warm golden pink shimmer. It is just bright enough not to be a pastel color, and neutral enough to be an office friendly color, plus the shimmer adds some interest as well. I like the formula as well, it's neither too thick or too this, but just right. This is three coats, but I think you could get away with just two thick coats.

I watched part of the Royal Wedding today and I just loved some of the hats!!! Just WOW!!! Perhaps I'm just a polish nerd, but I wanted to see something more interesting\noticeable nail-wise on the bride.

Chanel 307 Orange Fizz

How gorgeous is this!!!!!!!!! Orange Fizz to me does not look particularly orange, it's more coral with pink tones. The polish itself is as close to perfection as it is possible - this is just one thick coat, it dries really quickly and does not chip on me. Superb! And three days on I am still wearing it.

Chanel 509 Paradoxal

This is one of the first polishes I used from the polishes I was given to try :) And how could I not?! It is gorgeous, truly stunning! You all know what it is, it's a little big grey, it's a little bit purple perfection in two coats. The wear is okay I guess, I got a few minor chips after a few days. I must say to my eye Barry M's Dusky Mauve looks really close, and I will do a comparison as soon as I can.

On a completely different note, I've been painting Easter eggs all day yesterday with my family. It's my favorite thing! Plus all my eggs end up being a varying shades of green (my favorite color). But now my fingers and nails are the most unmentionable color with a mixture of green, blue and red!

China Glaze Red Pearl

This is a new addition to my China Glaze stash and it is truly lovely! I usually prefer my reds in a cream finish, but this has a really nice warm shimmer. The formula is also very nice, two coats here. On me it wears really well, and only shows some tip wear after three days. Overall, count me very impressed!

Christian Dior 478 Silk Roses

Hey everyone! How are you doing? Here I am procrastinating instead of finishing my research paper for university.

This is another oldie but quite a good one. Silk Roses is a polish that looks exactly like that it is a faded, dusty pink shimmer. But I think that it has just enough of color not to look too old lady-ish. The formula is quite nice, it goes on smoothly, and dries quite fast. This is two coats and I usually wear it for a few days.

Thank you!!!

I am blown away by the kindness and generosity of people around! A friend of a friend has given me an opportunity to try some amazing polishes that I would have never dreamed of trying. But now I can, and I'm so excited!!! Not only are the colors amazing (I'm looking at you, Paradoxals and Nouvelle Vagues of this world), but even the bottles are gorgeous and are lovely to hold.
I'm really excited to try them all as soon as possible.

China Glaze Wagon Trail

I'm in love! Isn't this just the most gorgeous color ever! Wagon Trail is a dark olive green with an awesome green-gold shimmer. I am in awe. Me, who is not that into green polishes to begin with. But this is definitely my new favorite! I liked the formula and the application was easy, only two coats. It wears nicely as well, 3+ days on me. It's just an awesome polish all round!

Sally Hansen Lacquer Shine 05 Vibrant

I got this a while ago, it was on sale nad looked like a decent color. I mean it's not the most unique color out there, but it's quite bright, it's warm and pink, do it will do :) The application is nice, two thin coats was enough for the polish to be opaque. Even though I'm usually not a fan of shimmer in polishes, this I like quite a bit. I actually haven't worn this polish as a full manicure, so I'm not sure how long it will last.

Chanel 159 Fire

This is another on of Lena's gorgeous Chanel polishes. What can I say, Fire is a bright red creme, shockingly red. The formula is dense, so in one coat it is pretty much opaque, and two coats make it perfect. I can now see why Lena loves Chanel polishes and I agree - they are easy to apply, and the formula is nice. Also I'm not wearing any top coat and look how shiny it is! When I was putting it on, it did look remarkably alike to the Max Factor posted some time ago. I wore it for 2 days, then it started wearing off at the tips. For some reason tip wear on red polishes is really noticeable on my nails, much more so than any other color.

OPI Merry Midnight

This is a major lemming satisfied for me! I have been dying to get Merry Midnight since I saw some pictures online. It is just so, so gorgeous! And it's purple! And it has flakies in it! But I thought that I wouldn't be able to find it, since it came out for Christmas 2009. And then the same day I got Gold Rainbow, I saw this just sitting on the shelf in the shop!
It is utterly gorgeous! I need three coats for it to buildup nicely, but the formula is nice. It's packed with red-pink flakies and has blue glitter inside. On me it wears without any major problems for 4 days.

Awesomeness in a bottle!!!

Bourjois 1 Seconde #9

This is Bourjois 1 Seconde nail polish in deep purple. On the nails it has a lot of pretty sparkle, which in fact are tiny flakies that change color form pink to golden yellow.
It's a decent polish, especially if you disregard what the company advertises it to be. It is supposed to be a one coat polish that dries in 50 seconds and with the innovative brush you can paint your nails in 1 second. Riiiiight... Yes, the brush is nice, it's wide and firm, and good for painting the nails. But i think that for people who have smaller nails it might be too wide. As for all the other claims, well for me it is definitely a two coat polish. I wouldn't say that it dries super fast, not nearly close to 50 seconds, but eventually it gets there. As for the 1 second per nail claim I suppose you can do it, but it will be so messy! So, no thank you. On me it wears okay, two or three days, then I usually just get bored of it.

Orly On The List

I'm really surprised by how much I actually like this polish! I got it a couple of weeks ago without expecting much at all, but when I got home and painted my nails *wow*, I was so impresses by this dark berry red. It has a jelly texture that has pink\mauve and red glitter in it. It goes on nicely in 2-3 coats and dries fairly quickly.

Nailfinity 549 Red Passion

I don't have any Max Factor cosmetics apart form this polish, Nailfinity 549 Red Passion. It is a perfect red creme for me. I have gone through dozens of red polishes over the years, but this is the only one I like with my freakishly pale skin. Others were either too orange, too light, too streaky etc. This one applies okay in two coats, lasts on me for three or four days without chipping or major tip wear, so overall I'm pleased with it.
