Actual NOTD: OPI Diva Of Geneva

I don't know exactly what possessed me to get this polish, probably some lovely swatches online :) Anyway, it lay untouched for a long, long time, and now I wonder why. Diva of Geneva is a lovely, gorgeous wine colour, plus it flashes all sorts of colours, like pink and even blue. It needs just two coats and dries quickly. I like that when I move my hands the polish looks black at the side of the nails with a pop of colour in the middle.

OPI DS Sapphire

Hey everyone! I've been neglecting my blog lately, life got in the way :) I'm seriously stuck with the research for my degree. Plus there are a hundred other things that need doing.

This is a rather cool polish, I think it's a duochrome holographic beauty. It's clearly blue with a prominent rainbow effect, but there is also a flash of pink visible. It is on the sheer side, so here I am wearing three coats. There is one thing I don't like - the silver on the cap rubs off like crazy.

China Glaze Moulin Rouge

This is a perfect Valentine's Day nail polish, I think. It's red and sparkly, full of iridescent glitter. Moulin Rouge is a red equivalent of Meteor Shower and Preppy Pink. This was two coats, it dries slightly bumpy, but nothing that a few coats of top coat cannot cure. For some reason this polish reminds me of summer strawberries.

Catrice 220 Lost In Mud

It's snowing again, but it is windy too, so as I look outside my window it is snowing completely sideways.
Originally this polish was supposed to be a small gift for a friend who was dreaming of Jacques. We looked and looked for it in all the usual shops, but it was nowhere to be found. This seemed like a fairly similar colour, but then one of the shops in Amsterdam had a whole bucket of Jacques. So she got that and I kept this one. In the bottle the colours are actually quite close, I'll do a comparison some other time.
Lost In Mud has a pleasant formula, it needed two coats, and it dries quickly. As for the colour I am still not sold. Hopefully in time I will warm up to the whole range of taupe brown colours. I should probably try layering something on top and see if I like it.

OPI Panda-monium Pink

I am very fond of this nail polish. The colour is not unique, I know, but I like one property that it has. The colour sort of changes depending on what clothes I wear. Basically next to different colours the polish seems either more pink or distinctly lilac. The formula is okay, here I am wearing two coats over a ridge filler, no top coat. Plus I like the wear time I get out of it, easily 3-4 days.
I remember that when this came out a few years ago, I went into the shop to get LucLy Lucky Lavender and left with this one instead.

Barry M 319 Silver Foil

It's been really cold around here lately. Waking up to minus 21 every day is no fun at all. It got to the point that the cat has been sleeping on by bed or even under my blanket every night. My parents both grew up in really cold climates (think Siberia) where temperatures in excess of -30C are common. But because there is little humidity the it doesn't feel that cold. Here by the sea it feels really cold all the time and is you add wind to the mixture, I become an icicle in minutes.

Last week my blog turned one. Somehow I totally forgot about that until a few days ago. I'll have a small giveaway soon to celebrate that fact, I promise!

Today I am wearing a great nail polish Barry M Instant Nail Effects #319 Silver Foil.I don't have a single other polish that gives such a look. It's like liquid metal. The best part is that it only needs 1 coat. That's right I am wearing just one coat of nail polish! You can see some brush strokes, but that has more to do with a layer of top coat that I put on than Barry M's polish itself. I love this and thank you Sophia for bringing it to me from London.
