Dior Golden Jungle Polish Duo

Yesterday was my birthday. As is always the case with birthdays and other special occasions, I never have enough time to polish my nails. It is perhaps lucky then that people tend to give me nail polish as gifts :)
Dior Golden Jungle nail polish duo was one of them. It consists of a pale gold foil as the base, and camouflage green crock effect crackle top coat. It looks quite interesting. Under the crackle you can use just one coat of gold polish.
On its own it required two coats to be opaque.
The crackle has an interesting texture, not really like a regular polish, more liquid and also not entirely opaque. It takes a while for it to crack completely, it was probably close to 5 minutes. Also if the the shatter is too thick, it will only crack at the edges. What I like the most is that the golden foil shines through the green and gives it an added dimension.

Dior Aloha

This was a gift for my birthday from my parents' friends. Dior Electric Tropics 638 Aloha is a bright orange nail polish. Think orange highlighter, just slightly more vibrant. I have no idea how to describe the finish - it's not a creme or a jelly, it has some neon in it and dries kind of matte. When I first tried it was a disappointment, after three coats it was still sheer and made the VNL look really bad.
Today I decided to try again. I noticed that some residue settled at the bottom. Lots of shaking l and two coats later I have a look that I am mostly satisfied. The nail line is still visible but it is a significant improvement on my previous attempt, and the look doesn't bother me. I like the brushes in these polishes, they are rounded and flare out a lot, plus they pick up a lot of polish.

I had some orange felt around and the match is very close.

This polish is called fluorescent and in ultraviolet light it is still bright orange.

Christian Dior 478 Silk Roses

Hey everyone! How are you doing? Here I am procrastinating instead of finishing my research paper for university.

This is another oldie but quite a good one. Silk Roses is a polish that looks exactly like that it is a faded, dusty pink shimmer. But I think that it has just enough of color not to look too old lady-ish. The formula is quite nice, it goes on smoothly, and dries quite fast. This is two coats and I usually wear it for a few days.

Christian Dior 859 Enchanting Garnet

This is an oldie, but I like this polish a lot. Dior have changed the design of their bottles at least twice I think since this one came out. It one of my favorite polishes actually. Enchanting garnet is exactly that, it's a cross between pink, wine and plum color with plenty of shimmer. On me it applies nicely in two coats, dries quite quickly, and the nicest thing of all - I can wear it for about four days.
