I'm sick here and sick of all the group-based tasks at this business school. At the moment I'm juggling 5 projects with 5 different teams that are due in the next few weeks. Insanity.
I started to care somewhat less about my nails here simply because I don't have the time. Zoya Pippa is a polish I never got on with. For me it was unbelievably difficult to apply. It is fairly thick and streaky, so here I'm wearing 4(!) coats of polish and in person it still looked streaky. Bad, bad all around.

Versace Heat V2060-W

This polish comes from the same time that my other Versace polishes. But this one is a total pain. I have never really had enough patience to do and wear a whole manicure with this polish. Ever.
There's only one thing I like about this polish - it's the butter yellow color with some subtle pink shimmer. Everything else is and has always been a disaster. It applies super streaky and uneven, even though here I'm wearing three coats. It looks lumpy and bumpy, and worst of all it either takes way too long to dry or it does not dry at all.
In recent months this polish has been good for only one thing - water marbling. I wasn't reluctant to use a lot of it, and in this case it looked and dried well. Oh well, at least it can be used for something, and not just lie around for no reason.

Misa 103 Fleeting Hibiscus
Fleeting Hibiscus is a nice pink shimmer from the Botanical Gardens collection. I normally amnot a very big fan of shimmer polishes, as they can look dated. But this color I actually like. It looks really pretty and feminine. It is pretty much opaque in one coat, but I needed two and in some cases three coats for it to look even.
There are two things I don't like about this polish. For one thing no matter how I paint my nails, I cannot get rid of brush strokes. Sometimes it irritates me to no end, but in general I can overlook it if I like the color well enough. The second thing just completely kills me - the second coat does not dry on me. I have no idea why. Any suggestions? The first coat dries quickly, and even if I wait, the second coat just never does. So I haven't been able to wear this pretty polish as a full manicure.

Polish fail
One of the biggest nail polish fails to date has been my first and unfortunate experience with China Glaze. I was about to start my placement at a company, and needed a beautiful neutral polish. I chose China Glaze Innocence. It was the most adorable color, just pink enough to be girly, but not nearly bright enough to be inappropriate in the workplace. All in all, I was in love with this polish. I would wear it for a few days, when it would start to chip, I would just repaint my nails. And on my days off, I would go all out, and have red, purple, gold nails. All was well.
But after a few weeks I noticed that my nails were yellow, something that almost never happens to me. I assumed that it must be the dark\vibrant polishes I wear during the time off. So I stopped wearing them. It didn't help, and my nails were becoming even more yellow. I changed my base coat, maybe it was at fault, but to no avail. By this point my nails were embarrassingly yellow, really bright. And if before I was able to wear just clear polish and be happy, now I just couldn't.
At this point I started to suspect my beautiful China Glaze; I bought a much cheaper drugstore brand polish in boring beige and waited to see the result. My nails started growing out without the yellow tinge. Unfortunately Innocence had to go. It took me months to grow out the yellow nails, even buffing did not help to improve the look.
As it can be expected, I am really apprehensive to try China Glaze again. I mean, it was a nude polish! I dread to think what my nails will look like after a dark CG polish. All in all, it is a real pity that this was the experience I had with my first China Glaze. Yet there are still a few of their polishes on my wish list.
