OPI Russian Navy Matte

This week I are really not up to the whole blogging thing. All I want to do is sleep and sleep some more. During the weekend we were moving and I caught a cold. Now I'm this sneezing, wheezing monster. And the best part? The only thing I really want is an ice cream. It kind of brings back childhood memories, when I would be fine the whole year round, but would wake up on the first day of the Christmas holidays with the flu. I pretty much don't have a single Christmas photo where I'm not sick.

Okay, on to the polish.

As much as I am indifferent to the original Russian Navy (for me it is just another blue polish, it lacks something special), I love this one! Thankfully I have a supplier of different blue polishes. It's so gorgeous, sophisticated, amazing! This was two coats, but you could probably get away with just one, if you apply it carefully and evenly. While putting it on I was so sure that it is blue, but with a top coat on, it is definitely blue-purple. Yes, the wear is not that great, it started chipping on the second day, but for such a gorgeous look I really don't mind.

OPI La Paz-itively Hot Matte

Quite a while ago when I saw the beautiful swatches of this polish online I immediately liked it and wanted it. Plus for me it was surprisingly easy to get it - my local shop had just a handful of suede ones and only 4 of OPI mattes left, the "unpopular" colors. This one, Alpine Snow, Gargantuan Green Grape and Lincoln Park After Dark.
Anyway, La Paz-itively Hot Matte is an amazing hot pink, really vibrant, a happy color. The application way rally easy, not like the trouble I had with the suede polish. The only thing is that in certain angles you can see every single imperfection of the nails, and since before taking the photos I didn't buff my nails I'm not so happy with the result. i definitely need to smooth out my nails really well and retake the pictures.

Additionally, I like turning matte polishes glossy a lot. I think they end up looking pretty amazing, and in most cases look really nice or even nicer that in matte form (or different as in the case of suede polishes). And indeed, I think it looks fantastic with a top coat. Suddenly a blue-ish shimmer is revealed.
If OPI had some nicer matte color, I would definitely get more, since to me they seem versatile, a bit like having two polishes in one.

Orly Blue Suede

This is probably the nicest blue nail polish I've tried. Granted, I'm not really into blue polish in general, so haven't tried a whole lot of them, but this one is a true beauty!

With 2 coats it gives a really nice deep matte look. It goes on a little bit thick, so I can see where I painted my nail unevenly. I managed to wear the polish for four days without tip wear or chipping, which really surprised me.

Overall this polish is really beautiful, makes me really excited about other blue polishes out there, I love it!
