Dance Legend Green Mamba

Hey guys! I'm sorry I've been away for so long, but now I'm back and plan to blog more regularly :)
I've had an awesome summer catching up with my family.

Dance Legend Green Mamba #923 is an awesome polish. It is a black jelly base filled with green flakies, that in certain angles it shifts to blue.
The formula is quite lovely, it is opaque enough so that I only used 2 coats, but it is see-through enough for it to provide a beautiful result of flakies appearing out of the dark.

Trendsetter revisited

After wearing China Glaze Trendsetter for a couple of days I really wanted a change, but as I didn't really have time to take the polish off I went the 'add another polish on top' route. I don't think I have any glitters that would go with this odd colour, but then I thought Flakies! Inglot flakies 205 change colour precisely from yellow to green, so they go hand in hand with Trendsetter. I like this combination a lot, I'm sure I'll wear it again.

OPI Merry Midnight

This is a major lemming satisfied for me! I have been dying to get Merry Midnight since I saw some pictures online. It is just so, so gorgeous! And it's purple! And it has flakies in it! But I thought that I wouldn't be able to find it, since it came out for Christmas 2009. And then the same day I got Gold Rainbow, I saw this just sitting on the shelf in the shop!
It is utterly gorgeous! I need three coats for it to buildup nicely, but the formula is nice. It's packed with red-pink flakies and has blue glitter inside. On me it wears without any major problems for 4 days.

Bourjois 1 Seconde #9

This is Bourjois 1 Seconde nail polish in deep purple. On the nails it has a lot of pretty sparkle, which in fact are tiny flakies that change color form pink to golden yellow.
It's a decent polish, especially if you disregard what the company advertises it to be. It is supposed to be a one coat polish that dries in 50 seconds and with the innovative brush you can paint your nails in 1 second. Riiiiight... Yes, the brush is nice, it's wide and firm, and good for painting the nails. But i think that for people who have smaller nails it might be too wide. As for all the other claims, well for me it is definitely a two coat polish. I wouldn't say that it dries super fast, not nearly close to 50 seconds, but eventually it gets there. As for the 1 second per nail claim I suppose you can do it, but it will be so messy! So, no thank you. On me it wears okay, two or three days, then I usually just get bored of it.

Orly Meet Me Under The Mistletoe

I got this specifically for Christmas last year. And in fact this was my first green polish ever. Ok, I had some Revlon when I was about 13, but that was years ago and it was more silver than green. So this is definitely my first bright and dark and shiny green. Somehow I had an idea that green polish was not for me, that it was not appropriate for work\university, in short - not for me. Obviously, I was apprehensive to get one. When I saw that Orly had a pretty green in a mini version, I finally got it.
My Meet me under the mistletoe is a dark green jelly polish with duochrome green and gold tiny flakes. This is the best I can do to describe it. Two coats is plenty to make it opaque and very shiny. It also wears much better that the red I got at the same time, I wear it easily for three days.
There is one thing I really like about this polish - it doesn't look too green. I know it's a weird thing to say about a green polish, but whenever I wear it, you can actually see the gold tiny flakes much more. So it feels more safe and less green :)

Zoya Julieanne

Until very recently I lived under the belief that Zoya polishes were not sold where I live. Which is a pity, since I actually like to shop for nail polish in person, to stand in front of a display and be blown away by choice and be indecisive about which color to choose and then buying as many as possible anyway. Yes, there are a lot of swatches online and etailers, but for me it is not quite the same. Sometimes even the most boring-looking polishes will grab my attention when I see them in person.
So it turns out that there is a shop that carries Zoya, Jessica and Essie, the brands that I would like to try. Unfortunately, this is where the good news for me end. The shop sells Zoya for about 9$, which seems reasonable, until you get to the catch - this price is only for "professionals registered with the shop". And all other mere mortals pay twice as much. Paying 18$ for a brand I've never tried seems too much. Plus this is what I pay for two OPIs.
One Zoya or two OPI?!?! Decisions, decisions...

I did get Julieanne, but it felt like I was being mugged in broad daylight. The color is beautiful, though. It's a very dark, almost black, purple with abundance of purple shimmer. In the bottle you can see the duochrome shimmer, but it is not visible on the nails. It gets nice and even in two coats. I struggled a bit with the brush, but i suspect that's just because I'm not used to it.
All in all I liked Julieanne, and I have about ten more Zoya polishes on my wishlist, but at such prices I don't see it happening.
