Texture Week - Kinetics Private Jet

This is the last textured polish that I have to share with you. Kinetics Private Jet is a black sand-like polish. It actually looks like leather and when dry feels like plastic on the nails. This is also the polish where you can see the textured particles the most - they are white and sit on top of the polish, making it look grey, not black. This is especially noticeable on the first coat which applies very sheer, but two coats are enough to make it wearable. This is the polish that makes me appreciate the textured trend. I like how it looks and how it feels on my nails.

Layla Flash Black

Flash Black is one of the polishes that I picked up recently. It is so unassuming in the bottle, but on the nails it looks gorgeous. I used two coats of polish, which I think is the same for all my Layla holographic polishes. On top I used Laylas's Nail Polish Sealer, a top coat kind of product, which is the only one I have ever tried that gives insane shine and doesn't dull the prismatic effect at all. Although it claims to prolong nail polish wear 'until you decide to remove your polish', it prolonged the wear for me on this polish by one day.

Dance Legend Green Mamba

Hey guys! I'm sorry I've been away for so long, but now I'm back and plan to blog more regularly :)
I've had an awesome summer catching up with my family.

Dance Legend Green Mamba #923 is an awesome polish. It is a black jelly base filled with green flakies, that in certain angles it shifts to blue.
The formula is quite lovely, it is opaque enough so that I only used 2 coats, but it is see-through enough for it to provide a beautiful result of flakies appearing out of the dark.

Dance Legend #2 Spacecraft

What a beauty! This polish was brought to me by a friend from Russia while she was visiting her family (Sasha, thank you so much!).
Spacecraft is magnificent. It is a black\charcoal grey holographic polish. It has a lovely formula, it is very dense, so you can get away with just one thick coat. Here I'm wearing two thin coats, no base coat or top coat. In person it is even more vibrant.

NOTD Orly Androgynie

I have a sort of hit and miss relationship with Orly polishes. They are either amazing, with gorgeous colours, last long and are easy in application, or they barely last a day and are difficult to work with.
So whenever I see an Orly polish that is really gorgeous I really hope that it will be good. And only if it is really truly beautiful will I get it.

With Androgynie I went backwards and forwards whether I like it enough to get it. EventuallyI obviously succumbed :)
At first I was kind of disappointed that all the big hex glitter stuck to the bottle sides and very few made it to the nails. But after wearing it a couple of times I can say that I love how it looks. It is black, but there is enought of golden glitter in to to make it seem brown next to something truly black. Also whenever I use this polish, I shake it quite violently and then put it upside down for about 5-10 minutes. This way I get a sufficient amount of large glitter that I like on the nails. I usually use 2 coats like here, or layer one coat over black.

Hema Long Lasting Nail Polish #41

Long time no see! My mind has been far away from nail polish recently. We nearly lost our cat yesterday. We took him for a walk, I turned away for just a second and he was not there. The next half an hour was spent frantically running around the house screaming "Felix!". When panic started to set in, there he was as if saying 'what, I just went exploring a bit'. And he was a slight shade of green - we're having trouble with pine pollen at the moment. Every surface outside and inside is covered with lime green polled dust, even the air is yellow in colour.

As for nail polish I'd like to share Hema #41 from the Long Lasting line of polishes. That being said, I haven't noticed it being particularly long lasting, I wore in for two or three days, just like most of my polishes. I do, however, like the colour. It is grey black with very fine silver white shimmer. I don't have other polishes exactly like this one, other grey/black shimmer tend to look frosty and have visible brushstrokes, this one doesn't. This was two coats.

YSL La Laque 128 Black Indigo

I am proven time and time again that men are very good at picking nail polishes that have something special about them. The same case happened with this beauty. YSL 128 Noir Indigo is an almost black polish that has some pink and purple shimmer. The shimmer is much more visible in the bottle, but less so on the nails, think along the lines of Chanel Vendetta.
Here I am wearing two coats. I like this polish a lot, it's a bit of a pity that when there is no direct sunlight it looks just black. The fact that the shimmer occasionally disappears makes this polish extremely difficult to photograph. Also I wish there was more of this polish than just 6ml, it's too pretty to be this small :)

BeYu 325

Hey everyone! Today I want to show you one polish that I find truly beautiful. The is is BeYu 325. It has a black-midnight blue base colour and is peppered with blue shimmer. In one word - awesome. This is my first polish from this brand, so I didn't know what to expect. The formula was fine and dried really quickly, it needed mostly two coats, but some nails needed an extra one. Also this polish dried to a somewhat dull look, so it needs top coat on top. Overall, I'm really happy with this one and will probably get some more polishes from this brand. I got this in Douglas in Amsterdam, so I'm assuming that they are widely available.

OPI Brand New Skates

Hey everyone! I've got a really gorgeous polish to show you today. I picked it up about a month ago. Brand New Skates is a real beauty, it is charcoal grey shimmer with tiny bits of gold flakes. I just love it! The first coat was very sheer, but it did build up nicely, so I needed just three thin coats. I wore it for about three days, and it looked just great in every light and angle.

OPI Midnight Blue Glitter

Today I had a day full of crazy action. Let's say that I now know what I will grab first in case my house is on fire not just in theory. It will be Felix, our cat :)

I unearthed this gorgeous polish in a dusty corner of my local shop. Midnight Blue Glitter. What can I say, it is stunning! It's a black label polish, so I'm assuming it came out a while back and is now hard to find. It has a very interesting texture. It has a sheer grey base, in it are lots of tiny charcoal grey glitters. On top of that there are also two different kinds of blue glitter mixed in. Together they make a real beauty. This polish does require three thin coats to be totally opaque, and there is one drawback - it takes a while to dry. I'm assuming this is because of the old formula. But after it dries you get a really gorgeous polish that I wore for three days without any problems.

OPI Lincoln Park After Dark

I have to admit that I really, really dislike this polish! Perhaps it is just because I don’t get this color. Lincoln Park After Dark is a very, very dark plum creme. The application was ok, not perfect – this is two medium thick coats. It took a while for each coat to dry. There are several things that I don’t like about the polish. The color is just not doing anything for me. It’s like a non-color, very non-descript. It’s not dark enough to be black and not light enough to actually see the color. To me there are many other nicer nail polishes that try to be almost black where you can actually distinguish the base color, whether it is red, green or blue. Plus it just drives me mad that on me the tips start to wear off within a day.
Overall, it’s a miss in my books!

China Glaze Mummy May I

I have been dying to get my hands on this polish ever since it came out. It's just gorgeous!!! The polish itself has a very dark base, it's pretty much black, but it is packed full with magenta pink square glitter. A very sexy polish! This was two coats. I like a lot how it looks and the fact that it lasts on my for about four days. What it really can do with is a layer of top coat (which I forgot to use here) since you can see that the glitter stands out on top of the polish, it's a bit bumpy.
