This is one of those annoying colours that is impossible to describe. At certain times in looks pink, orange, coral and even sometimes almost neon. It's a lovely colour, don't get me wrong but on its own I don't love it, so whenever I reach for it I pair it up with some glitter, or better yet - flakies. This was two coats.

Bourjois 10 Day Nail Polish #16
Hey everyone! I hope you are doing well. I got my diploma at last, yeah! I hoped that this would be the last bit of studying for a while, but the business school I attended keeps tempting me with offers along the lines of your good grades = 50% off and the like, so I'm seriously considering studying for a masters degree.
I'm ashamed that I've had these swatches since the end of last summer and never got round to posting them. This is Bourjois 10 Day nail polish #16, a coral shade with pleasant golden shimmer in it. I got to try it thanks to a friend.

This polish is supposed to last for 10 days and then you can use the brush to touch up the manicure for a further 3 day wear. I shall explore how well that goes at the end of the post.
This range of polishes has the most ridiculous brushes, they are wonky by design. Well, they are slanted. I remember reading that Sally Hansen (?) had this sort of brush for the white polish in a french manicure set. It might work there, but it is so uncomfortable for normal application, astonishingly bad. Why would anyone think that it is a good idea I have no idea.

The polish itself is not that bad, used two fairly thick coats. It dries reasonably fast. The most pleasing aspect of this polish is the colour, a truly coral shade. It also has a slight golden shimmer, which is much more noticeable in the bottle.

I really hate it when make up companies shamelessly promise unrealistic things. The over ten day wear claim for me is just that. While I'm really not bothered by wear time (any polish should last at least 2day without chipping), I decided to see how long this one would last to the point I would not wear it in public.
The verdict - the photo below is after 2 and a half days, and I left it on for longer that I would deem appropriate in chips/tip wear, and this is my left hand. So now apparently I should be able to prolong this experience by putting a little bit of polish on the tips and chips. That would look super! [Sorry for the sarcasm, couldn't help myself].
So overall, I only like the colour which is not that unique, the brush is ridiculous, and you get nowhere near the 10+ days of wear. Oh did I mention that around here Bourjois retails for more that OPI/Orly/China Glaze/SpaRitual? No, no, no, no way.

American Apparel Poppy

This polish has been a lemming of mine for a while. But as it is usually the case there is no American Apparel store for thousands of miles around. Poppy is a beautiful red with a hint of coral. But the nicest thing about the polish is the formula, it's on the thick side but it means that this needs only one coat! It goes on smoothly and lasts for about 3 days.

OPI Come To Poppy

Summer is not entirely over here, there is still quite a bit of sunshine even if it gets really cold in the evenings. So it seems fitting to share with you one polish from this summer's collection, Nice Stems from OPI. Come To Poppy is a coral pink with a lot of white pearly shimmer. Now, I usually don't like these sort of shimmery polishes, I tend to favour either the plain old cremes or the totally colourful and shiny glitters. But here it works and I like it. This was mostly one coat, some nails needed a second coat, so a really great formula on this one. It dries fast and last a fair amount of time. What else could a girl want?

OPI Baguette Me Not

Hey everyone! Today I have for you one of my new favourite polishes. Baguette Me Not came out years ago, it was part of the France collection, autumn 2008. I liked the swatches that found online, bought the polish, and... it looked completely different on me. But I still like it a lot! It must be the colour, it's kind of hard to describe. It's dusty salmon and pink with a hint of rust to it. That's the best I can do. It kind of leans toward being neutral, yet still has enough of brightness to it not to be dull and beige. The formula is also rather nice. Here I'm wearing two medium thick coats. Oh, and I wear it for 4+ days which is just great!

Essie Funships

Today I have Essie Funships to show you. I have to admit that I don't know a whole lot about Essie's polishes. It's one of those brands that I don't have easy access to so I stick to other companies.
So Funships is a pink coral shimmer polish that has a hint of orange to it. The application wasn't too bad, though I have nothing to compare it to. It went on a bit unevenly, so it needed three coats to be opaque and more or less even, though even after that you can see the brushstrokes. The color is very interesting and the epitome of summer to me. The wear was decent as well, two days without any problems, chips or wear.

OPI Lunch At The Delhi

The weather has been really warm and sunny lately, yet today I woke up to the sound of a first real storm. Thunder, rain, lightning.... I just love it!
So today I have a very pretty polish to show you. This is OPI Lunch at the Delhi from a few years back. It's an interesting color, it looks kind of coral pink, but at times can look closer to orange. The application was really nice and smooth, this is two coats. I managed to wear it for 3 days, by the end of the third day there was a lot of noticeable tip wear.
To me this is a lovely beach shade, it's bright and warm and I'm sure it will look great with a tan!
